Top 10 Best Hotels

Being Jet-Setters on the go, we know how important choosing the right hotel can be. We have definitely had our fair share of "never again" hotels and have learned to do our research before choosing our next home away from home.

When I came across this article about the "10 Best Hotel in the USA", I was immediately intrigued to see if any of my favorite hotels had made the list and what qualified these hotels as the best.

The list includes some of the well-known hotels such as the Trump International in Chicago and the Four Seasons in Las Vegas.

I personally haven't stayed in any of these hotels, but I will definitely be looking at some of these locations on my next getaway.

Check out the article and let us know if you've spent a night in any of these top rated hotels. If you haven't booked a vacation at one of these hotels, let us know which hotel is your favorite.

Travel Deals and Steals

Here's another segment of Travel Deals and Steals coming your way. Check out Ideeli Travel for a 16-night Spain, Portugal, and Morocco Vacation. You'll save nearly 30% on this vacation by booking through their website.

In this luxurious 2-week vaction you will travel through each of these beautiful countries on a guided tour.

Can't you just imagine yourself sight-seeing down the cobble stone streets and admiring the chapel and beautiful masterpieces of architecture in Madrid?

Or, perhaps you would prefer to enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner while listening to the drum players and belly dancers?

Sounds like a dream vacation to me!

Check out http://travel.ideeli.com for more details and tell 'em the Jet-Setters sent you!

Have any of you Jet-Setters been to Spain, Portugal, or Morocco? If so, we want to hear about your trip!

What Kind of Traveler Are You?

Hey Jet-Setters!

I recently took this quiz over at Nextpedition American Express Travel to find out what kind of traveler I am. My Travel Profile was a "Zenturian".

Describes as...

"Welcome Zenturian. Shhhh, yes we know?you are welcome pretty much anywhere, which is good since you go just about anywhere. For you bring order out of chaos with your organic approach and digital vibe. What we're saying, Zenturian, is your traveler's aura is au natural. Some say it's your healthy appetite for food, drink and life. Others are convinced you aren't from around this cosmic plane."

What I really liked about the website is that when you book your next getaway, you can use their Travel Console which will show you the best attractions and places to visit based on your travel profile. The fun part is that it is all a mystery until each part of the trip is revealed to you day by day.

Sounds like a great way to spruce up your next vacation if you ask me! Check it out at www.Nextpedition.com

So Jet-Setters what do you think? Take the quiz and let me know what your travel sign is!

Southern Fires

My new fave restaurant is... Southern Fires located in Detroit, Michigan! Can you say Yummy?

It reminds me of my grandmother's and my mom's home cooking! When I traveled to Michigan for my birthday, my friends took me to this place to eat and now it is all I think about...lol!

Here is the link to their site, listen to the song, it makes me giggle every time I hear it... http://www.southernfiresrestaurant.com/

If you ever get the chance to go to Southern Fires, make sure you get dessert. I recommend the Strawberry Shortcake; it is big enough for 4 people to eat and sooo good!
I had the chicken with a side of Macaroni and mashed potatoes w/ gravy! You can't tell me that doesn't look good!
Here are some shots of my friends enjoying their meals! Chicken and Waffles! I really enjoyed the atmosphere of Southern Fires, it is was so nice! Again, make sure you try the Strawberry Shortcake the next time you are in town! The Jet Setting Divas love to try new restaurants, what and where is your favorite place to dine? Much love, Diva Joy

Welcome to the Live Music Show Capital of the World!

Hey Divas! Last weekend my friends and I jumped in the car and took a road trip to good ole Branson, Missouri!

What is so special about Branson? Well I am so glad you asked..lol!

Branson is known as the Live Music Show Capital of the World! The city that sits in the Ozark Mountains has over 50 live music performance theatres, golf courses, an historic down town district, shopping and plenty of nice restaurants to name a few! It is a very budget friendly place to visit and there is something for everyone!

Check out our pictures of Branson!

King Kong, is that you? Video of some of the performance halls along the mean streets of Branson

One of our first stops at Branson Landing. Branson Landing is like going to an outdoor mall, with all of your favorite shops, restaurants, condos and more. The landing sits on the waterfront of Lake Taneycomo.

One of our first stops along Branson Landing was at Northwood's Candy Emporium! No one can resist this place!

I heart Fudge! The Chewy Praline was the best of them all! Water Fountain inside the candy emporium. Who wants a chocolate Kitchen?.... I do! Shots of Branson Landing shops!

Branson Landing has a water show. In addition to water, there is fire, light and music. The fountains shoot up to 120 feet! The fountains are even more amazing to watch at night.

Here is a link to the Fountains site for more details: http://www.bransonlanding.com/fountains.html

Video footage of the water show!

We had some good home cooking at Farmhouse Family Restaurant! The restaurant looked like the inside of a house! It was very cute and had some hilarious sayings on the walls! I had the Chicken Tenders! Look at those Tenders, Yum!
All the drinks are served in Mason jars to give it that country feel! Bessie had the lemonade.
Vanessa and I had the Sweet Tea! It was so good!

Vanessa concentrating on the menu.. She ended up getting the Chicken and Dumplings!
Branson has some of the best shoppes and boutiques around! We stopped at an eclectic store called Dick's 5&10! It is a huge store with all kinds of merchandise! Dick's has been in Branson for over 50 years. Here is their website, be sure to take a peep: http://www.dicksoldtime5and10.com/.

Vanessa and I bought some really cute Marilyn Monroe glass cups for our new house! Check out some of the other things you can find in Dicks!
The Driver Licenses had me cracking up! Too cute!
We bought some bacon flavored mints to trick our brother with! Pay back.. lol!

We had an absolute blast in Branson and next time we hope to be able to check out one the famous shows there!

Love, Peace and Blessings to ya!

Blog Crawl- Escape to Mardi Gras Madness

Hello Divas! Hope you have had a wonderful week and had a chance to check out the Blog Crawl hosted by Jillian at Cornflake Dreams! If not, you missed out on some of the fabulous vacation ideas posted by the bloggers of the crawl. To end out our week of Madness and the Blog Crawl we'd like to share photos from the madness that was Mardi Gras this year!
Plan on attending Mardi Gras Next year? Get your costume together---now! Yes, a lot of people were dressed in costume! There are a ton of parties and costume balls, so you won't be the only dressed up!

You can go as Cruella Deville!
Or as the Incredible Hulk!

Make sure you catch a day parade...

And then party the night away on Frenchmen St. (which is a less crowded/better version of Bourbon st.)

There are a few things you must absolutely do if you plan on attending mardi gras next year!
1) Do Not go on Bourbon St unless you don't mind HUUUUGE crowds. Yes I know you want to experience bourbon and get the world famous hand grenade--but it would be advised to do this maybe before 11pm (lol) to avoid being pushed and shoved by the crowd
2) Try the beignets at Cafe du Monde! Don't know what a beignet is? It is a donut covered with looots of powdered sugar goodness! It is a must!
3) Check out Frenchmen st. which is an alternative to Bourbon, with lounges & bars minus the massive/mad crowd!
4) Definitely catch the night parades!

Well--Mardi Gras this year was MAD packed and we had MAD fun! Wonder how next year will be! Don't forget to visit Jillian at Cornflake Dreams, and also don't forget tonight we are drawing a winner for our $25 giveaway for CSN stores! Hope you enjoyed your weekend!
